The Beginning of U.P. Government Railway Police (GRP) Helpline Number 1512

For prevention of criminal incidents in the trains and to provide the prompt help to the passengers, a four digit helpline 1512 has been started in U.P. by GRP. Any passenger may get help dialing on this helpline number 1512 by mobile or landline, within the area of U.P. under this scheme.

During the journey in the train, any affected person may file complaints against the incidents of theft, loot, dacoity, tress possing, teasing, murder etc. This facility has been made available on the mobile phone of the customer of any mobile company.

The GRP has prepared a scheme of “Computerized Message Security” under which rail passengers may intimate any complaint to control room of GRP headquarters, Lucknow through phone or MMS. As soon as the information reaches HQ, an automatic ID number is allotted to passenger about his complaint and action is taken accordingly.

The passengers may inform/file complaints on the numbers of head quarter control room and on telephone number 1512 in UP and apart from this the information may be given at GRP headquarter control room number 9454402544, 9794833811, 9794866946, 9919099190 and 0522-2288103, 288104 and on 2288105.

The GRP has started “The GRP Citizen Eye”, helpline, under which the passengers may send their complaints about illegal collections, misbehaviour, and unauthorised act done by the police and other irregularities on CUG number 9455548064 through Whatsapp. Action is taken keeping the name and mobile number of the complainant confidential.

An “Anti Eve teasing Squad” is being constituted in all sections of UP GRP.

CCTV cameras have been installed at the important and crowded railway stations i.e. Charbagh Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur and Agra. Currently CCTV cameras are working at 19 police stations. Apart from this the Real Time Monitoring Cameras are being installed at 6 police stations (Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Lucknow, Moradabad and Agra)
